An Argument for Returning to Treating Obesity with Simple Willpower

When I was growing up, the word “willpower” was used a lot. If only one was strong enough to resist sweets, according to logic of the time, one could stay thin. Yet today, based on a series of scientific discoveries, the importance of willpower in promoting weight loss is becoming an obsolete notion. Is it worth saving?

I do agree Nash. Will power and strong resolve are handy in overcoming temptations of junk food or overeating. Most people do not have the habit of exercising their will power. As a result their will power is weak and they complaint and exercising will power is useless.
The fact of the matter might be that they find it useless because their will power is so weak. And 9 times out of 10 they might succumb to the temptations of sweets, overeating or unhealthy eating.
